Whizzing at Wheeldon… 2022/2023 EXGB British Indoor Electric X Championship Rounds 3 & 4 – Youth Race Report & Results!

The kids classes at rounds 3 & 4 of the 2022/2023 EXGB British Indoor Electric X Championship served up some great action at the fabulous Wheeldon Off-Road Centre in Devon with some excellent racing throughout the classes.

The Auto-E class had doubled in numbers from the first two rounds and the racing was fast and furious as the 5-8 year old racers on their KTM SX-E 5’s, Husqvarna EE 5’s and GAS GAS MC E-5’s did battle on the superbly prepared circuit.

Teddy Moore who had finished third in the first two rounds rode a blinder in Saturday’s final to get the better of debutant Hugo Roberts who looked a class act in the heats with Albie Wood keeping series leader Rougue Lewis at bay for the final podium spot. Jesse Barks worked his way from the back to fifth ahead of Joel Leonard and Kolbe Red Sole who made a good step up from the Revvi in Seventh. Frank Bishop rode well to get in the A final where he finished eighth.

In the B Final Blu Bishop on his KTM SX-E 3 machine took the chequers ahead of Jake Leonard, Samuel Blackler, Arthur Hitchcock and Jackson Bowers.

On Sunday the A Final saw Jesse Barks make a storming start, and while he rode a calm and calculated race at the front all drama ensued behind him. Albie Wood was second for five of the six laps with Teddy Moore on his back wheel the whole time but a mishap for Wood on the final lap saw Moore into second and Rougue Lewis taking advantage for third. Albie would end the race fourth ahead of Hugo Roberts in fifth, Kolbe Red Sole in sixth Joel Leonard in seventh and Samuel Blackler having a good day and making the A final in eighth.

Over in the B Final Frank Bishop took the win ahead of Arthur Hitchcock, Jackson Bowers, Jake Leonard, Blu Bishop and Seb Phillips.

Fantastic racing all round guys. The Championship standings going into the final round at SX Worx now see’s Rougue Lewis leading with 63pts with Teddy Moore one further back on 62. Albie Wood on 59 and Jesse Barks on 56 are both well within the title hunt too.

The Mini-E class was another which had two heats of little racers duking it out for EXGB glory.

Ethan Kentch was the stand out rider winning the A Final on both days, and on each occasion he was joined on the podium by George Hutchings in second and Dexter Bowers in third. Great racing guys!

On Saturday the fourth position was filled by Archie Gomes while Tommy Scammell who was unlucky not to finish third took the number four spot on Sunday.

The rest of the A Final finishers on Saturday were Tommy Scammell in fifth, Nina Squirell in sixth, Toby Falloon in seventh and Lennie Lowe in eighth.

On Sunday behind the top four were Nancy Good, Nina Squirrel and Archie Gomes.

Saturday’s B Final saw Nancy Good grab the victory ahead of Keyan Parry while on Sunday the number one spot went the way of Lennie Lowe who finished ahead of Toby Falloon and Keyan Parry.

The Championship standings sees Ethan Kentch hold a nine-point lead over Dexter Bowers with Keyan Parry in third.

The Oset 12.5 class was keenly contested and was run over four point scoring heats on Saturday and three on Sunday. Dorset racer Louis Good had a great Saturday taking the win over Austin Roberts who had a mechanical issue to deal with but had some great race wins. Ellis Gaines made it onto the podium in third with Oliver Fostun and Eden Squirrel riding well in fourth and fifth.

Sunday was a clean sweep for Austin Roberts, who won the round over Ellis Gaines and Louis Good. Oliver Fostun was fourth again, Sunday rider Ollie Scibilia was fifth and Eden Squirrel was sixth.

In the series Austin Roberts leads the charge by 10 points over Ellis Gaines with Louis Good in third.

The fifth and final round of the championship takes place at SX Worx in Sheffield on the 25th March.
